I've got a 1/5 scale Waco YMF framed and covered in solartex complete with pinking tapes and molded baggage compartment. I ordered the fiber glass canopy and wheel pants to go with it. DLE 20cc for power and a 70 / 90mm EDF with a small 6-8 cell Lipo for short bursts of power(which ever looks better). Paint will be the Jack Links Screaming Sasquatch. At least thats the plan so far.

Hi tmac,
is that one of the latest kits? I notice that there are carbon longerons on the fuselage are they part of the kit or your own mods?
i also have a 1/3 waco on the build but no carbon shown there.
Regards
Arthur

Thanks Tmac,
My kit is also one of the latest and at the same stage of build as yours. Another preject jumped the queue but it is nearing completion so the waco will be back on the bench soon. I will post pics soon.
i have been following this thread for years and it is full of great advice. I will also add carbon to the lower fuselage.

regards

Arthur

About to look at hinging the Ailerons but only have enough of the aluminium hinge for one wing. McMasters have what I need but will not ship to Australia. Would anyone be interested in obtaining it for me and posting to Australia, I will pay all cost and extra for your troubles!!.

Much appreciated, It is unfinished aluminium 3003 surface mount piano hinge 1-1/4 x3ft part no 1575A62. I need 4 lengths x 3ft long.
We need to figure away to get payment to you ,do you have Pay Pal?
Again, I really do appreciate this.

Hi all.

A few moths ago i got my hands on a 1/5 waco. Im in the process of installing the motor (os 160 twin) and Im wanting to know what's the best scale way of attaching the cowling ? At the moment it has the L shaped brackets to attach the cowling but i would like to move away from putting screws in the cowling. My plan is to get it flying then strip it down and scale it up.

I have seen on some round cowls that they have come from the opening at the rear and screwed to a tab that is glued to the inside of the cowl. I have screwed through the cowl and it does not look out of place at all.

Tsquadron have a look at the ring that is used on the GP Waco like tmac said one part mounts to the front and the other inside the cowl. Hope this helps some
