So the update, the jet is finally working great with the modifications , the best mode is to make the internally connected flaps with the horns glued to the upper under flap skin this definitely has better symmetry and make the flaps much stronger than the original setup, so maybe when you building a new voyager do the surface supports and the flaps with internal linkage.

Sebastian your Voyager flew really well at the Route 66 jet rally in Litchfield Il. this weekend. It was fun hanging out with everyone.

Did the maiden flight on my Voyager today. Just curious, did anyone have an issue with the main wheels that came with their Voyager? I notice the left main wheel on my plane does not rotate freely. Initially thought that the bearing were bad, but that doesn't seem to be the problem.

I have some problems with the tires dropping off the wheels and grinding against the struts, the field solution was to apply the thin ca all around the joint between the tires and wheels, but the best solution is to fill the tires with 3M windshield glue , this is straight black rubber and if you don’t have it go to auto glass shop they have it for sure and just as them to fill the tires with that rubber glue, make sure that you have the wheels with you to seal them together and this will fix the problem

I just ordered one of these from Gator RC. What is everyone running for servos, UAT etc. Other than the kit, what else do I need to buy. is there any upgrades you recommend.

Thanks

I’m running savox servos 1230 on everything, make sure that the fuel tanks are 100% sealed, they have the carbon tube, and I ordered new different pipe from the big havoc, my got some bubbles from not so perfect wet starts .

Be sure to read POST #139 regarding flap horn/pushrod location. I have had issues with flaps not functioning properly using the suggested manual flap horn location. Either one flap would fully deploy, or both would partially lower when command given for full flaps. The suggestion for the flap horn location in POST #139 may lead to better flap reliability. So far, only 10 flights on my Voyager, but happy with the way it flies. Looking forward to testing the function of the flaps with the internal linkage setup.
Servos being used are Blue Bird H 51B V2

Hi
I strongly recommend the improvement mentioned in #139.
Also check that you reach the needed movement of the controls by the servo travel of 100%.
Be carefully by the wingtips they can be damaged easily during handling and transportation.

So I have a set of Savox SV-1270tg that are pretty comparable to the 1230’s. I will run those. I have a Smoothflight ARXL for control and a SW220b for power. I ordered a digitech UAT and some batteries so I should be pretty well set. Still debating on a set of lights and smoke system.

I am planning on doing the carbon tube set from gator RC unless there is a reason not to.

anyone got a line on wing bags?

what length servo horns give the best results?

For the main wings, I am using the large double wing WingTote bag (59"long 35" root 22" tip) $125.99 at Chief Aircraft.

I have wing bags that fit the wings perfect and the tube, I think that they made by redwings will check them tomorrow, make sure that you have at least 3/32” gap between the surfaces and the wing tips I have a problems with that and make the flaps pushrods internally don’t even try to make them the manufacturer way this almost cost me a new jet, end up lending with one flap halfway stuck on a short field, just got the new pipe today so I’ll will post some replacement pictures.

That looks great!! The 300 size engine is interesting to me. I have a sa 220b from an other jet that I sold. Im going to try that first. If I’m not happy, I’ll upgrade later.

I ended up ordering a set of Revoc wing and stab bags for it last night. The are pricy, but I think worth it for this one.

Default Voyager

Hi,

- Savox 2290 (50kg) on rudder / flaps and savox 1270 (35kg) on the rest.
- I use a 5l fuelbag (150gr) so no uat needed.
- Ar smoothflite 16 with jeti REX3, Rsat 2.4 and Rsat 900.
- Electron retracts with GS200.
- Zavonix afterburner.
- 2 unilight bars on each wing and unilight 30mm spot in the nose with cooler with a 2 channel controller.
- Regarding the turbine, I haven't decided yet but will probably go for a kingtech k235.
- one 3s 3800mah life from kingtech for the turbine and two 2s lion 6400mah batteries from ar boomarc for the receiver/whole system.
- 16pin wing connectors from rc struik and mr30 connectors on stabs/ rudder.
- All carbone bars.
- Aluminium wing, stab bags from revoc.

Decided to up my game a little. I went with Brushless servos. 2290SG on flaps and rudder as suggested above and 2270SG for the rest. I'm still going to stick with my 3200 Lion receiver batteries. I will probably run something similar size for ECU. Now to decide on lights and smoke.

Looking for carbon tubes to replace all the aluminum ones. I know I can get the main wing tube from Gator. Anyone able to post the size for the other tubes and maybe a source for getting them?

Wingtube Alu is around 985 grams
The 40mm carbon is 590 gram (at 2meters long and has to be cut to correct lenght)

So (for now) I guess around 500grams less weight due to carbon tubes all around

Default Voyager Lazy Afternoon Flight

Hey guys,

I was out at the field the first time with the Voyager in 2022 last monday with the new Swiwin SW240B installed. Flies amazing!

Here is a video of the first flight of the 2022 season:

All the best from Austria
